I will be updating again all the time. <3 <3 <3 I've been making a list of the things they don't teach you at school. They don't teach you how to love somebody. They don't teach you how to be famous. They don't teach you how to be rich or how to be poor. They don't teach you how to walk away from someone you dont love any longer. They don't teach you how to know whats going on in someone elses mind. They don't teach you what to say to someone whos dying. They don't teach you anything worth knowing. Whatever happened to those girls that were supposed to grow old together and marry those stupid boys we always liked? Whatever happened to those girls that sat up all night pranking the boys that broke our hearts? Whatever happened to those girls that swore they'd be best friends forever? He asked, "Are you sad?" And she was quiet, hesitant, unlike herself - until she shakily shook her head Yes. And he said nothing, but ran his hands up her back and turned her to face him, pressing his nose against hers looking softly, hardly breathing, understanding, not knowing, not even loving, just comprehension, comprehension of what she needed: The hands that brushed her spine and the hair out of her face the pressure of his body and the fact that just then, he was her friend. And she felt more than his skin and he more than hers, and he held her like he held the world Time flies. Time waits for no man. Time heals all wounds. All any of us wants is more time. Time to stand up, time to grow up, time to let go. Time. But she grew up. She learned that pinky promises could be broken as could hearts. The word "friend" means constant backstabbing, but she also learned who her true friends were, they ones that stuck by her side in tough times. She learned that every once in awhile there will be boys that lie, but that's no reason not to trust anyone because eventually, a boy will come along that will love her the way she deserves. She also learned that no matter what happens, to smile because life comes with no guarantees. There are no pause, rewind or fast forward buttons. She lived in the moment and simply did it the best. So, what can we do? Hold tight to a fist-full of memories of laughter and lyrics and late-night giggling that ushered in the story of a summer, a summer that loved us all. so where's the writing on the wall? who's gonna save us? who's gonna provide us, who's gonna divide us, who's gonna save us? stay up all night and sleep all day we were smart kids with too much to say we were so so sure that they were missing out "yeah, they're the ones that are missing out." |
